Paralyzed Athlete's Jersey Retired

ANTON, GA -- It has only been about four months since Cherokee High School football star Matthew Blaylock's life took a tragic turn. He is already an inspiration to many and driven to walk again.

Blaylock suffered a paralyzing neck injury in a pool accident last may, the day before he was to graduate from high school. His jersey was retired before Friday night's game between his former team and Harrison High School.

It was an emotional ceremony that put the game on the back seat. The number 4 was retired, a number that will forever be associated with Matthew Blaylock. "I don't even know what to say," Blaylock said before the ceremony. "I'm speechless because I never thought this would ever happen."
